Hi! I’m Lee, a somewhat unremarkable bloke from Stoke, and this modest online space exists merely as an excuse to write regularly. It will hopefully provide the impetus that maintaining a diary never did.

The content here will inevitably be inspired by my interests, and while these are always in flux to some degree, there are a few constants: French language and film (from the 1950s—1980s in particular), Ancient Rome (blame Robert Graves and Mary Beard!) and various webdev technologies (Typescript, Svelte, 11.ty, etc.). I also dabble with Affinity Designer (vector art) and Blender (3D modelling).

A lack of writing stimulus probably seems odd in the information age, but I find social platforms with excessive interaction options too distracting. I invariably tailor content according to the expectations of followers and my interest wanes. That is why this place is conspicuously lacking options such as likes and comments.

Things may change, however. This blog is very much a work in progress and I am already working on a second iteration.

Update notes:

My check-ins (a viewing log similar to check-ins at IMDb) were temporarily removed. They looked and behaved exactly like blog entries which was confusing.
