About
Hi! I’m Lee, a fairly run-of-the-mill bloke from Stoke, and this site exists because I need (i) a Hugo sandbox and (ii) a way of forcing myself to write more often. Hopefully, it will provide the impetus that keeping a diary never did.
You’ll find posts here about a mishmash of my personal interests. Right now, that includes French films—mostly from the 1950s to the ’80s—along with French pop culture and bande dessinée aimed at older readers. I’m also fascinated by Antiquity, particularly Ancient Rome. Additionally, I’m often tinkering with web development tools, scripting languages, and creating vector art with Affinity Designer.
Social media is great for keeping up with interests, but I find the emphasis on engagement a bit distracting. Here, I hope to focus on writing for the sake of writing without getting bogged down by algorithms or follower expectations.
This blog is a work in progress, and things will change as I figure out what works best. If you need to contact me, there is a feedback form, and you can also reach out via Bluesky. I’m seldom there, but I’ll still see any notifications.
